Maggie Murphy at the Guardian Weekend Magazine commissioned this. It was to go with Oliver Burkeman's column about hip and trendy types living in posh designer pads but looking absolutely miserable. Great fun to work on, the blog that Oliver refers to is called unhappy hipsters and is definitely worth checking out. Thanks Maggie.

Crayonaut: line work

28 Feb

A while back when I had just finished my Power Ranger Valentine, I found out my very talented friend Ander ( http://www.crayonaut.com and http://zaratus.deviantart.com/ ) was also big on Sentai/ Power Ranger stuff.

I was really excited when Ander suggested about doing a collab based on his alias "crayonaut" based on crayons + sentai/power ranger + robot.

So here's the line work that I did.  I've been always been blown away by his art, so I'm looking forward to see what he does with the line work!
(make sure you check his sites!)

Old Strips Week-Part 5

26 Feb

Some heavy blogging here today. With this third and final post of the day, I bring my old comics retrospective to a close. First up is another contribution to Don't Touch Me, this from April of 2007. Let's examine, shall we...
Secondly, as featured in the Fall 2007 edition of Broken Pencil. I was asked to do a "write up" of sorts on that year's Toronto Comics Art Festival. The theme for the particular issue was "horror" so I thought the conversation with Seth was a fitting subject for the story. The title block is an homage to the classic (Read more...)
