Jan Bowman trained in architecture, so her buildings are predictably impressive. However her work also quietly celebrates the relationships people have with buildings, infusing the structures with a life and energy otherwise absent.

Chris Dent makes some amazing black and white urban landscape illustrations. He captures the frentic feel of cities well; frankly the lack of color doesn’t hurt a bit. In a way it almost helps emphasize certain facets of city living.

While trained as an architect, Sloan Schaffer applies a heavy dose of artistry to his conceptual layouts. I’ve seen so many hyper-real 3D architectural renderings that it’s really refreshing to see someone with a personal and stylish take on the matter. The portfolio also includes snapshots of interesting 3D models and some beautiful hand-wrought metalwork.
