Cover for Bookmarks Magazine

Daniel has several new pieces posted on his website after a very busy fall.  Most notably is the new cover for Bookmarks magazine – available at Borders and Barnes & Noble now.  Bookmarks had previously only used stock imagery and this is their first foray into using an illustrator.  They were very happy with the results and more covers are planned for 2010.  Purchase a copy while you are out Christmas shopping and reinforce that custom illustration sells better than stock.

Teaessare Can Read, a solo exhibit by TS Rogers, showcases illustrated moments from classic and contemporary literature from Steinbeck to Sedaris.

Il Sung Na has some lovely watercolor-y work. Her children’s book, A Book of Sleep, seems to be doing rather well. Check her site for two new upcoming books!

Madi makes some neat collage-style illustrations for children. Flip through her sketchbook on her site for interesting concepts and designs!

Oliver Jeffers deftly combines whimsical cartoons with abstract collage and type. He recently opened up a Shop section where you can purchase his picture books and selected prints featuring artwork from these books.

Eva-Lena Rehnmark illustrates many things, but her passion lies with depicting animals, particularly wolves. Check out her Nature portfolio for stunning work from her illustrated book, “Neither God nor Devil: Rethinking our Perceptions of Wolves”.

Lauren Nassef creates beautiful, sometimes minimal, imagery for book covers. Check otu her gorgeous sketches too. She also keeps a ‘Drawing a Day‘ blog, which lives up to it’s name and is filled with very nice visual observations of everyday life.
