New Zealand-based Helen Dean illustrates girls in pretty candy-colors. She also has neat fashion illustrations done with pens in her sketchbook section.

Joseph Blake creates some amazingly watercolor-ish oil paintings that evoke strong feelings of nostalgia.  No less impressive are his sketches and drawings, which continue to celebrate the quiet charms of simple life.

Mmm… just looking at this makes me want to go out and get some fish ‘n chips. Culinary cravings aside, Scottish illustrator Liz Myhill’s work does an excellent job of dramatizing a normally dreary and insipid scene. Her portfolio showcases her illustration as well as fine art pieces, which unlike the former, are more somber and suitably capture the nuances of her home landscape.

Justin Wolfson may be a recent Rhode Island School of Design graduate, but that doesn’t stop his portfolio from looking extremely professional. Justin’s particular brand of neo-retro is playful and pleasing to the eye. I hope he does well for himself. Check out his blog too for nice sketches and some insight into his work process.
