Jason Levesque aka Stuntkid creates weird and wonderful images that beguile and inspire. The are also handy at showing off his great range in different painting styles.

Sven Palmowski has a great approach to his subjects, which are often surreal. check out Folio 2 for more fashion-like illustrations.

Anke Weckman’s style is simple but distinctive, like a funky update of traditional Eastern European folk art. Her rendition of Bjork here is fittingly old and new at the same time.

I hate coining new phrases, but I think art director and illustrator Mira Nameth’s workis a really good example of what I call ’skecthbook cool’. Loose, almost naieve linework contrasted with complex textures and patterns, complimented by striking yet moody color schemes. Buzz word or not, her work is nonetheless a joy to look at.

There should be a category between high-brow and low-brow art, because Vincent Agostino’s artwork would fit there perfectly. He does great portrait paintings, and the odd monkey on a bicycle. Vincent is part of Hot Trash Studios (which includes previously featured Benjamin Johnson)

Elesavet Lawson makes use of interesting found objects and unusual painting techniques to bestow her paintings with an air from a bygone era. Girlishy surreal, her work has been featured in magazines and galleries. And yes, if you’re wondering, that is William Shatner…

Singapore based illustrator and designer Eeshaun makes some wonderful mural artwork. Look for his artwork in the game if you play the online virtual reality simulator, Second Life!

 Jordy van den Nieuwendijk aka Superoboturbo makes brightly colored illustrations of robots, monsters and assorted animals in psychedelically fun settings. His art brings to mind video games like Katamari and LocoRocco, which is not too surprising since his major influences include animation and game favorites.

Daniel Chang’s portfolio is a collection of softly surreal work with very light, loving touches of humor. He seems to have a fondness for animals over humans, having rendered everything from cranes and pelicans to bees and beavers.

Choosing a picture from prolific artist/illustrator Craig LaRotonda’s massive portfolio is tough – there is just too much great work to pick from. LaRotonda runs Revelation Studios with the equally talented Kim Maria, who makes stunning assemblege/collage pieces.
